From Haugesund to Avaldsnes
By car: Follow Rv 47 to Skudeneshavn, The road changes to E 134 a few km before the bridge. Cross the bridge. When you get to the roundabout at Avaldsnes, turn left (third exit) and go straight ahead (2nd exit) at the next roundabout towards St. Olav's Church at Avaldsnes.
By bus: Bus number 209 and 210 from Haugesund will take you from Haugesund to Avaldsnes. It is a 10-15 minute walk (about 1 km) from the bus stop to the Historic Avaldsnes. Ask the bus driver for Avaldsnes. The bus stops by the main road E134. When you get off the bus, cross the road through an underground passage. Follow the road to the left. You will see two roundabouts. Follow the footpath and look for the landmark St. Olav's Church.
The bus normally runs twice an hour, but less frequently on Sundays and national holidays.

From Bergen or Stavanger
By car: From Bergen (3 hrs, 15 mins) and Stavanger (2 hrs), follow E39. Note: If you are coming from Stavanger – take the direction to Skudesneshavn in the undersea tunnel. Once you are out of the tunnel, turn right towards Avaldnes and Haugesund.
By bus: The "Kystbussen" operates between Bergen – Haugesund – Stavanger. (Bergen – Haugesund, 3 hrs, 15 mins) / (Stavanger – Haugesund, 2 hrs). If you are traveling from the east of Norway, the "Haukeliekspressen" operates between Oslo – Åmot – Seljestad – Haugesund (9 hours).
