In 2017, archaeologists uncovered the walls of a magnificent Royal Hall at Avaldsnes. For centuries, these ruins remained a well-preserved secret, buried 2 meters underground. The Royal Hall dating back to around the year 1300, was directly connected to St. Olav's Church.

Get a unique behind -the-scenes wiew into the conservation building, which houses the ruins. Here, the careful preservation of the old walls is underway. Our knowledgeable guides will share exciting details, from the original design and purpose of the king's hall in the Middle Ages to the ongoing restoration efforts and future plans for the site.
