The Viking Festival

Every June, we invite you to the largest Viking festival in Western Norway, held at the Viking farm at Avaldsnes.

The Viking festival offers an engaging and authentic experience for visitors of all ages. More than 150 Vikings from Norway and across Europe bring history to life, offering visitors an authentic glimpse into the Viking Age. Explore the busteling market filled with handcrafted goods, traditional foods, tastings, and lively music- all designed to engage your senses. Set against the backdrop of historical surroundings, including reconstructed Viking Age buildings, the festival creates a unique and atmospheric setting for friendship and cultural exchange.

In the various tents, traditional crafts is demonstrated and the skilled crafts people sell their goods. Watch the blacksmith forge metal, listen to the sounds of Viking music, or take part in exiting activities like archery, horseback riding, juggling, or theater - all while enjoying the delightful aromas of Viking food.
