The Viking Festival

Every year in June, we invite you to the largest Viking festival in Western Norway at the Viking farm at Avaldsnes. 

The Viking festival is packed with experiences for both young and old. Over 200 Vikings from Norway and Europe give visitors an authentic insight into the Viking Age. The large market of sales of handicrafts, food, tastings, and music is there for your senses. Historical surroundings, with reconstructed buildings from the Viking Age, set a nice frame and a lovely atmosphere around the event. This is a meeting place for friendship and cultural development.

In the various tents, work is being done on traditional crafts and the sale of self-produced goods. Watch the blacksmith at work, listen to Viking music, or try different activities like archery, horseback riding, juggling, or theater - all to the delightful scent of Viking food.

The Avaldsnes Viking Festival is always held during the first full week of June. This year, it falls on June 6th - 9th. In the following years, the Avaldsnes Viking Festival will be held on the following dates:
2026: June 5th-7th 

Opening hours June 6. - 8. June 2025

Friday from 09:00-18:30

Saturday from 11:00-18:30

Sunday from 11:00-17:00

Prices

Adults NOK 200,-

Student/Senior NOK 160,-

Children NOK 80,- 

Children under 4 years - free entry when accompanied by an adult

Family 2a+2c NOK 480,-

The ticket is valid for all days (festival ticket).

If you have an activity card or are a companion with proof, you enter for free.

Are you interested in participating as a Viking at the festival?

We are no longer accepting registrations for this year's festival. We will open registration for 2025 in January again.
